Alken-Maes

Alken -Maes is a Belgian brewery with headquarters in Mechelen; it belongs to the worldwide established brewery composite of the Dutch Heineken Group.

History

The brewery was ( in Waarloos ) and Cristal Alken ( in Alken ) founded in 1988 by the merger of two formerly independent breweries Maes. In 2000, Scottish & Newcastle bought the brewery - but was taken over by Carlsberg and Heineken itself in 2008. Alken -Maes ever since has been to the Heineken Group.

In addition, in the brewery top-fermented strong ale is brewed Judas. It has an alcohol content of 8.5 %. The beer is fermented in the bottle and is made of water, malt and hops. The color is amber, slightly cloudy. Optimal is a drinking temperature 6-8 ° C.
