Great fertilizing is a district of Bad Salzdetfurth, Lower Saxony. It is located in the southeast of the county town Innerstetal Hildesheim on the B 243

History

The first written reference is obtained from the year 1085. By the end of the ecclesiastical principalities of the village to the Little Hildesheimer pin belonged and therefore one of the catholic pin villages. This is evidenced particularly the Baroque parish church of St. Cosmas and Damian of 1733, the tower also shows the local coat of arms. At the beginning of the 20th century the number of United fertilizing 732 inhabitants and had a sugar factory, a dairy, a brick factory and a machine factory.

Culture and sights

  • The Catholic church in the village is a Baroque church of rubble with ashlar sandstone, which was built in 1733. High and low altar originally stood in the chapel of the 1803 resolution Sülteklosters in Hildesheim. On the altar there are two wooden figures from the Gothic period, which represent the two patron saints of the church. Under the pulpit a plaque for Joseph Müller was attached.
  • On the main road, which was built in 1780 and renovated in 1988 Iburgsche half-timbered house is worth seeing, which is also known under the name of The Old half-timbered house. It is named after one of the former owners. In it, a local history museum is housed, as well as numerous cultural events take place here.
  • Known far beyond the borders of the United fertilizing addition, the United Düngener Christmas market which takes place every year on the third Sunday of Advent. Here exquisite arts and crafts will be offered. On 1 Advent in the United fertilizing is always placed a 7 meter high Christmas pyramid. On Palm Sunday every year there is a special Easter market.
