Grosser Preis von Baden

The Grand Prix of Baden is a horse race that is run since 1858 as part of the "Big Week" on the racecourse Iffezheim at Baden -Baden. The race is considered the most important and significant test for three years and older English thoroughbreds in Germany. In the years 2000 to 2005 the race was one of the " World Racing Series Championship " and therefore one of the 13 most important horse race in the world.

The Hungarian wonder mare Kincsem and the German stallion Oleander are the only previous horse that won the race three times. According to them, each a street was named in Iffezheim therefore.

The Grand Prix of Baden is a flat race category Group 1 (Group I ) over 2400 meters and is held in early September each year. In 2009, the Grand Prize was endowed with a sum of 250,000 €.
