Großer Segeberger See

The Great Segeberger Lake is a lake near Bad Segeberg. Adjacent villages: Small Rönnau, Stipsdorf.

Formation

Within the lakes of East Holstein, the Large Segeberger lake is characterized by a particular history.

Striking points

  • The Spitzenort peninsula ( near Stipsdorf ) divides the lake into two halves.
  • The Bird Island is the only island and lies in the northern part of the lake, about 500 m north of Spitzenort. The island is usually the year under water. Only at extremely low water level it rises above the water surface. This results in more collisions with boats.

Leased the lake from Segeberger fishing club. The Segeberger lake contains the following species of fish: pike, perch, eel, carp, tench, bream, roach and rudd. Bream grow particularly well and reach weights up to 6 kg.

In the city there is an outdoor pool, a spa promenade, boat rental, various sports associations ( rowing club, sailing club, boat club ). In the area there are also small Rönnau an outdoor pool and a boat club. Between Stipsdorf and small Rönnau there is a bird sanctuary. In Stipsdorf is another boat club.
