Groswin

Groswin is the name of a former castle and the surrounding province in the area south of the Peene. She was probably between Stolpe and Anklam. The exact location is not known. In the dated to the year 946 Deed of Foundation of the Diocese of Havelberg the country Groswin ( Brotwin ) was first mentioned. However, this document is now considered a forgery. In 1234 Groswin was last mentioned in a document called a castellan named Jacobus.
