BW

The Guandi Dam ( Chinese官地 大坝, Pinyin guandi DABA ) is an under construction dam project with a hydropower plant on the Yalong Jiang, the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Sichuan Province in southwestern China.

The dam, which is built of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC ), is at the Yalong above between the Jinping II dam and the Ertan Dam below. She is from the city of Xichang 30 km air line and 80 road miles. The main purpose is to generate electricity from water power and it is one of more than 20 hydroelectric projects on the Yalong.

Four turbines and generators are supplied with drive water from the reservoir. They each have a rated output of 600 MW, so that the overall efficiency is at 2400 MW. The turbines are in an underground power house on the right bank. Construction began on 20 October 2010 and to be completed in 2012.

The hydropower plant will be operational in 2013.
