Guasdualito

Guasdualito is a town in the Venezuelan state of Apure. It is an important boundary point between Venezuela and Colombia. Guasdualito is closely connected with the Colombian city of Arauca. It is the administrative seat of the district Páez. The city had about 105,000 inhabitants in 2001.

History

The Achaguas lived in this region when the Europeans in the early 16th century arrived. The Welser have visited this region during their armed trains.

In 1750, a hacienda near the Guasdualito region is mentioned. In 1765 Guasdualito is already regarded as a settlement appears.
