Gudvangatunnel

The Gudvangatunnel (Norwegian Gudvangatunnelen ) is a road tunnel in the European Route 16 between Gudvangen and the village Undredal. It was opened in 1991 and was until the completion of Lærdalstunnels in 2000, Norway's longest tunnel. Along with this and the Flenjatunnel there are 43 kilometers of tunnels at 51.5 km traveled.

On August 5, 2013, a truck burned in the tunnel, from 2-3 kilometers from the Undredal page. A major rescue operation was initiated and thereby rescued 70 people and taken to nearby hospitals in Laerdal, Forde, Bergen and Voss. Among them was a 24-member tour group from China.
