Guidan Roumdji (also: guidan Roumji ) is a town and the capital of the eponymous department guidan Roumdji in Niger.

Geography

Guidan Roumdji is located at the junction of Great Landscape Sudan Sahel and is bordered to the southwest by the neighboring state of Nigeria. The neighboring communities in Niger are Bangui in the north- west, Dan Goulbi in the north, the northeast and Chadakori guidan Sori in the southeast. The urban area is divided into eight districts, 57 administrative villages, 81 traditional villages, hamlets and twelve three camps. The district hot Angoual Roumdji, Limantchi, Malamey, Massalatchi, Nakoiri I Nakori, Nakori II and neighborhood Administratif.

The Forêt de classée guidan Roumdji is a 2100 acre protected nature woodland area in the municipality of guidan Roumdji. The protected status was made in 1952.

History

The name guidan Roumdji means "house of the butcher ." Originally it was a small village of originating from Nigeria butchers, who specialized in the secret shafts of stolen cattle. The town is an old market town. The first market was still created in pre-colonial times.
