Guido Herzfeld

Guido Herzfeld ( born August 14, 1851 in Berlin, † November 16, 1923 ) was a German actor and theater director.

Life

He joined his first detectable theater engagement in 1892 in Leoben. Further stations of his career on stage have included Pettau, Passau, Pilsen, Aachen, Mannheim and Munich. 1899/1900 he introduced first time in Bochum self directed.

In 1902 he went to Berlin and played at the city's intimate theater. He also appeared in the cabaret Schall und Rauch or the Little Theatre. Herzfeld was last engaged from 1917 to 1923 at the Volksbühne in Berlin and continued working as an actor and as a director.

Also filmed Herzfeld since 1914 abundant, often in father roles or as a strange loner. His most famous film is the classic silent film Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, in the Herzfeld embodied a host. His last film The finances of the Grand Duke he also rotates under Murnau's Director. He died suddenly in late 1923, after which he recently was still on the stage.
