Guido Marini

Guido Marini ( born January 31, 1965 in Genoa, Italy) is master of ceremonies for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Pope.

Life

Guido Marini After leaving school, Catholic Theology at the Archbishop's Seminary in Genoa.

On February 4, 1989 he was ordained a priest, after he received his doctorate in Rome in civil law and canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University and in 2007 received the Bachelor in Communication Psychology at the Pontifical Salesian University.

From 1988 to 2003 he was the personal secretary of the following Archbishops of Genoa: Cardinal Giovanni Canestri (until 1995 ), Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi (until 2002) and Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone.

Among the cardinals Tettamanzi Bertone and Archbishop Angelo Bagnasco as also he was Zeremoniar and editor of the liturgical books and founder of the "Collegium Laurentianum ", a voluntary association for the planning and visitor service in the cathedral.

From 2003 to 2005 he was Director of the Department of Education and school in the Archbishop's Curia with a focus of Catholic religious education.

From 1996 to 2001, he was appointed member of the diocesan Council of Priests. After he was appointed Chancellor of the Archbishop's Curia in 2005, he became a member by virtue of office the same priest Council and by the Office of the Secretary and member of the Episcopal Council.

From 1992 he taught canon law at the Northern Italian Faculty of Theology, Department of Genoa, and at the College of Religious Studies, where he also gave seminars in theology of the church's ministry.

He was appointed canon of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, whose dean, he was from 2003 to 2007 in 2002. From 2004 to 2007 he held the office of spirituals at the Archbishop's Seminary in Genoa.

On 1 October 2007 he was named Pope Benedict XVI. the successor of Archbishop Piero Marini as Zeremoniar the Liturgical Celebrations of the Pope, after he had appointed him on 29 September 2007 Honorary Prelate of His Holiness.
