Piero Marini

Piero Marini ( born January 13, 1942 in Valverde Pavia ) is an Italian Curia, Archbishop and President of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses.

Life

Marini came in 1953 in the seminary of Bobbio, and was ordained a priest on 27 June 1965. Afterwards he worked as secretary to Archbishop Annibale Bugnini on the implementation of the liturgical reform of Vatican II with.

Pope John Paul II awarded him on April 2, 1986 Title papal prelate of honor and appointed him on 24 February 1987 Master of Ceremonies for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Pope. From then on, Marini was responsible for the organization and conduct of all services by the year 2007, which were publicly celebrated by the Pope.
