Guillermo Barros Schelotto

Guillermo Barros Schelotto, 2007

Guillermo Barros Schelotto ( born May 4, 1973 in La Plata) is an Argentine football player who is predominantly used as an attacking midfielder. He is the twin brother of Gustavo Barros Schelotto, who is also a professional football player.

Life

Schelotto was awarded his first professional contract for the 1991/92 season with his hometown club Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata, for whom he worked until 1997.

He spent the next ten years at the Boca Juniors with whom he won a total of 16 tracks and thus, together with Sebastian Battaglia, is the most successful player in the club's history.

In 2007 he moved to the U.S. Major League Soccer, where he was until the end of 2010 at Columbus Crew under contract. His most successful year in the U.S. was in 2008, when he won the MLS Cup and was also elected as the Most Valuable Player.

Around the turn of the year 2010/2011 he returned to his hometown club Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata.

Between 1995 and 1999, denied Schelotto ten international appearances for the Argentine national team.
