Guillermo Vázquez

Guillermo Vázquez ( born May 25, 1967 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican football player who acted mainly in midfield, and since 2006 has worked on the coaching staff of his Exvereins UNAM Pumas.

Life

Vázquez began his professional career in 1984 at his hometown club UNAM Pumas, for whom he played until 1990. Then he stood by the UAG Tecos, while CF Monterrey and Toros Neza under contract before he ended his active career in 1999 in the service of CF Pachuca.

He celebrated his biggest success in the 1993/94 season, when he won the Mexican championship with the Tecos. Two years earlier, he won the domestic cup competition with Monterrey.

In addition, he was three Mexican runner-up, two of them with the UNAM Pumas. What was denied to him as a player with his hometown club, he succeeded as a coach almost immediately. After he had taken over the Pumas as head coach prior to the 2010/11 season, he won the championship of the Clausura 2011.

Between 1988 and 1991, Vázquez was a total of four times for the Mexican national team for use.
