Orka -1200

The Cabri G2 is also based UAV Orka -1200 which was developed by Hélicoptères Guimbal together with EADS Defence and Communications Systems.

Heli Trainer

Together with the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics and an operator established in Augsburg helicopter operator, a flight simulator with the body of the G2 was developed. The fuselage was mounted on a heavy duty robot KR 500 robot TÜV of Augsburg company KUKA and is to simulate all the movements of a helicopter in the location. The Heli Trainer was presented at the International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition Berlin 2010 to the public.

Technology

The helicopter with the conventional structure is built from composite materials, the hull of Composites Aquitaine ( Sogerma ) is made. It has a curb weight of less than 500 kg and is equipped with a three -blade main rotor with blades made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic with lead core, impact and swivel joints with elastomeric bearings and dampers and a Siebenblättrigen fenestron tail rotor. The main rotor is clockwise in the plan view.

G2 is powered by a 107 kW ( 145 hp ) Lycoming O -360 - J2A four-cylinder boxer engine. The engine is the Robinson R22 same, but has an additional Plasma II ignition system of the U.S. company Lightspeed engineering which improves the performance from 131 hp to 145 hp. This motor drives a belt with a gear ratio of i = 0.855 at an intermediate shaft, which in turn via a bevel gear with i = 0.234 ( 11:47 ) the main rotor shaft. By the 170 -liter tank flights of 930 km or up to five hours are possible. Particular emphasis was placed on the crash safety and low operating costs of the helicopter. (for example, a long service life of the drive train ) The cockpit is equipped with a modern multi-function display. In passing by, a noise level of 75.7 dB is achieved.

Incidents

The machine motorflug baden-baden gmbh (see above) crashed on 19 April 2010 during a flight at Karlsruhe / Baden -Baden airport, about three meters in height from. The pilot and passenger of the helicopter remained there unharmed.
