Gulam Noon, Baron Noon

Gulam Noon Kaderbhoy, Baron Noon MBE ( born January 24, 1936 in Bombay ) is a British businessman of Indian origin and since 2011 for the Labour Party Member of the House of Lords. He is descended from the Rajputs.

Career

Noon founded several food companies in London's Southall, who specializes in Indian cuisine. The largest of these is the Noon Products, founded in 1987, which was acquired by the Kerry Group in 2005. In 2006, he was led into the run of the Sunday Times Rich List at number 888 with an estimated fortune of 65 million pounds. A possible connection to name it as Baron Noon with political donations and loans to the Labour Party was debated in public as part of the Cash for Honours investigation.
