Güler Sabancı

Güler Sabancı ( born August 14, 1955 in Adana) is a Turkish entrepreneur. She is the chair of Sabancı Holding, the second largest industrial and financial group in Turkey. Founder of Sabancı Holding was her uncle Sakıp Sabancı. Since 23 January 2013, it is a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG.

Life

After attending the prestigious TED Ankara High School, the daughter of Ihsan and Yüksel Sabancı studied at the Bosphorus University in Istanbul Business Administration. In 1978 she began her career at the family-owned car tire company in the province of Kocaeli. After that, she spent 14 years at the fiber factory Kordsa worked before she became a member of the Board of Sabancı Holding. After the death of her uncle Sakıp whose surviving brothers and Erol Şevket they did - on request Sakıp Sabanci - the Chairman of the Group.

In the list of 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes Magazine, it was conducted in 2009 at number 27. Thus, it is the opinion of the magazine is the most powerful woman in Turkey.
