Gunnar Staalesen
Gunnar Staalesen (* October 19, 1947 in Bergen, Norway) is a Norwegian writer who mainly writes mystery novels. He also works as a dramaturge at the theater Den Nationale Scene in Bergen.
Life
Gunnar Staalesen studied English, French and literature. Since 1970 he has published crime novels; it is the most successful series about the private investigator Varg Veum reclusive, the style is based on the hard -boiled novels of Raymond Chandler and Ross Macdonald. The first was in 2008 and 2009, several episodes as Trond Espen Seim, The Wolf in the title role, the second German television in 2012 under the title Varg Veum.
He lives with his family in Bergen.
