Gwen Stacy (band)

Gwen Stacy is an American Christian metalcore band from the U.S. state of Indiana, which has been named after the character Gwendolyn " Gwen " Stacy from the Spiderman comics.

Band History

The band was founded in 2004 by Brent Schindler and TJ Sego with the other two members Chris Suter and Josh Rickard founded. After the band brought out three demos without further success, and in the meantime singer Chris Suter left the band, which was subsequently replaced by Cole Wallace, took the band in 2007 with the support of Brian McTernan ( Circa Survive, Thrice, Converge ) and Paul Leavitt ( All Time Low, The Bled, From Autumn to Ashes ), their first album the Life I Know on, which was marketed in February 2008 under Ferret Records. Over 16,000 CDs sold the band alone in the U.S. and Canada. This was followed by long tours through North America with bands like 36 Crazyfists, Haste the Day and The Devil Wears Prada. Due to the large success with her debut album The Life I Know Gwen Stacy aroused the Aufersehen from which specialized in Christian metal label Solid State Records. After they had entered into an agreement with this, the band returned to their roots and took the previous vocalist Geoff Jenkins back on the band. In the summer of 2009 the band began work on their second album, A Dialogue, which was released in October of the same year under Solid State Records in the stores. It was accompanied and produced by Andreas Magnusson, a fellow musician from the band Haste the Day also Christian.
