Circa Survive

Circa Survive is a progressive rock band from Philadelphia (United States). It was founded in 2004 by Anthony Green (former singer of Saosin ), Nick Beard ( formerly Taken ), Steve Clifford, Brendan Ekstrom and Colin Frangicetto (both formerly This Day Forward).

Band History

2004 traveled Anthony Green, then a permanent member of Saosin, where already several record companies expressed their interest, because of a dentist appointment to Philadelphia. He also visited his friend Colin Frangicetto and played with him. On his return to California, there was a longer stay in Phoenix, where he made the decision to leave Saosin and to found with Frangicetto a formation. This was due on one hand musical as well as personal differences: Green was not a musical performance in the rather orient Metal Music Saosin, also disliked him according to its own opinion, the attitude of his fellow musicians to make music with the idea of wealth and success.

2005, her debut album Juturna was released by Equal Vision Records ( Cargo Records Distribution). The album name comes from the Roman goddess Juturna, which is a symbol for a new beginning as the goddess of wells and springs, as well as the album it was a musician for the five. Lyrically, there are many references to the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ( Eng.: Forget me not with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet! ) Who has Anthony Green at that time very busy and marked, but can not speak of it, Juturna would be a concept album. However, the last song of the album " Meet me in Montauk " refers most likely to the scene of the film in the Carry headlong drive to Montauk. After the band played, among others, a part of the Warped Tour and a European tour supporting Thrice and Coheed and Cambria. On 8 January 2007 started the recordings for the second album in Salad Days Studio with Brian McTernan. On Letting Go was released on 29 May 2007 in America.
