Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Tracey P. Christie (born 1978 in Sussex, England) is a British actress.

Life

Christie grew up in a small village near the South Downs, southern England, on. In her youth she was trained in professional gymnastics. However, they could not continue this activity due to spinal cord injury later and completed training as an actress instead. She graduated in 2005 at the Drama Centre London.

Career

After leaving school, the writer and actor Simon Callow Christie became the new mentor which enabled her to begin a career as a stage actress in the theater. She played the role of the Queen and 2010 in Christopher Marlowe's The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, Lucifer among other things, in Shakespeare's Cymbeline. In 2009, she also got to see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and was thus the first time on the screen a small role in Terry Gilliam's fantasy film.

Since July 2011, Christie was cast in the HBO series Game of Thrones, which is based on the successful books by the author George RR Martin, for the role of Brienne of Tarth combative. For the part had to Christie lessons in riding, take sword fighting and stage combat. Her debut in the series they had in the third episode of the second season on April 15, 2012.

The 1.91 meters for a woman unusually large Christie currently lives in London.
