Gymnasium Hankensbüttel

The Gymnasium is a secondary school in Hankensbuettel Hankensbuettel in Lower Saxony. It is the oldest high school in the district Gifhorn and the only high school in the so-called Northern Circle, the former district Isenhagen.

History

In 1947 the forerunner of today's high school as a private secondary education institution. In May 1951, the school was granted the right to award the high school. In the years 1953/54, the first time the boomers were taught 12 and 13. In 1954, the private school has been recognized as a public educational institution. The term " high school " leading the school since 1956. Occasion of the 50th anniversary of the school, a star trek the entire school was founded in 1997 performed on the worm in the Harz Mountains.

Due to the increased space requirements and the elimination of the orientation stage since the school year 2004/ 05 is taught at several locations in Hankensbuettel. In 2007 1455 students were taught by 88 teachers.

Special

Since 1998, bilingual education is offered.

In 2003, the school with the quality seal "Smoke Free School Lower Saxony " by the former Lower Saxony Minister of Social Affairs, Women, Family and Health Ursula von der Leyen was excellent and the then Minister of Culture Bernd Busemann Lower Saxony.

The school graduation classes were named by the year 2002 with the name " SEK2 " ( for secondary education ) and large Latin letters in ascending order ( eg " SEK2W " for the Abiturjahrgang 1999 ). Since 2003, this designation has been made with the help of the Greek alphabet and lower case letters (eg " SEK2β " or " SEK2beta " for the Abiturjahrgang 2004 ). 2011 went through due to the Lower Saxon conversion to the " G8 " school system, two vintages together a high school. However, these keep both their original vintage names (SEC II Iota Kappa and SEC II ) so that the Abiturjahrgang 2012 will bear the name " Sec II lambda ".
