Trauermantelsalmler ( Gymnocorymbus ternetzi )

Gymnocorymbus ( Gr. " gymnos " = naked, " kephale " = head ) is a genus of tropical freshwater fish belonging to the family of the Real tetras ( Characidae ). The genus belongs to the Trauermantelsalmler ( Gymnocorymbus ternetzi ), a popular freshwater ornamental fish. Gymnocorymbus species occur in northern and central South America before ( Amazon Basin, Orinoco, Rio Guaporé, Río Paraguay).

Features

Gymnocorymbus species are 5 to 7.5 inches long. Your body is high backs, almost round and laterally strongly flattened. Dorsal and anal fins are relatively high, the anal fin long. An adipose fin is present. The Basien of anal and caudal fin are unbeschuppt. Genus is typical of the unscaled " neck " line before the start of the dorsal fin ( generic name ). The lateral line is complete and runs almost straight.
