György Szűcs

György Szűcs ( born April 23, 1912 in Szombathely, Austria-Hungary, † 10 December 1991 in Budapest, Hungary) was a Hungarian football player and coach, with the Újpest FC the Mitropacup and three Championship title in the 1930s and with the national 1938 Vice World Champion.

Club career

The center-half started his footballing career at Szombathelyi AK, before he joined the club Testvériség unterklassigen Budapest. There he fell to the charge of Újpest FC and moved 1932 by István Tóth - Potya supervised top club, where he played in the rotor row next Antal Szalay. The player has developed into an excellent play-maker who was particularly praised for the precision of his passes, but also impressed by his heading ability.

There, the team reached with wins over AS Ambrosiana Inter and the SK Beogradski the final, where they met their city rivals from Ferencvaros. With 4:2 and 2:2 to Szűcs ' team won the day and was able to get this item for the second time in club history.

National

His first convening of the national team was the center half in January 1934, when at a 1:3 defeat against Germany the entire series runner was called out of UJPEST. From 1966 to 1967 he was coach of Iran, with which he moved into the final of the Asian Games, where the team of choice Burma was defeated 0-1.
