Győri Audi ETO KC

Gyori ETO KC is a Hungarian handball club from Győr. Both departments - men and women - are currently playing in the respective first Hungarian League.

History

The club was founded in 1948. For a long time both departments were unsuccessful; dominated in the men especially Honvéd Budapest, in the women's Vasas Budapest the league. The greatest success the men's team in the late eighties, when it was three times Hungarian Champion and 1986 won the IHF Cup. In the women's team the breakthrough came only in the new millennium; so you won in 2005, 2006 and 2008, the Hungarian championship and came in 2007 and 2008 semi-finals of the EHF Champions League and 2006 in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup before. In the 2012/13 season Győri won the Champions League for the first time.

The club bears its main sponsor in the name, currently calls itself the Women's Division Gyori Audi ETO KC, the men's department Gyorho ETO FKC.

Previously, the two departments mentioned already Győri Vasas, Gyori ETO Vasas and Gyori ETO Raba; the ladies department was temporarily Gyori ETO Keksz and Gyori ETO Graboplast, the men's department Gyori ETO Gardénia, Gyori ETO Tento, Gyori ETO Raba Quelle and Gyori ETO Seat.
