Gyula Németh (linguist)

Gyula Németh (Hungarian: Julius Németh: Gyula Németh, in German version) ( * 2 November 1890 in Karcag, Kingdom of Hungary, † 14 December 1976 in Karcag People's Republic of Hungary) was a Hungarian linguist and turkologist.

Life

Nemeth graduated from the Eötvös Kollégium 1909 in Budapest. From 1913, some of his work to the Turkish language in Berlin and Leipzig were published in German language. From 1920 to 1943 he worked at the Kőrösi Csoma Archive. From 1951 he was a member of the Budapest Journal Acta Linguistica.

Nemeth was a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
