Gyula Toth

Gyula Tóth ( born April 20, 1941 in Kikinda, Yugoslavia; † March 1, 2014 ) was a Hungarian football player and coach. He played on the position of the goalkeeper.

Career

After moving Toth launched in Germany first at VfL Nürnberg, then the ASV Fuerth in the 2nd amateur league his footballing career, before he could change as a contract player for South German Oberliga side SpVgg Fürth in 1960. Since the Shamrock Elf but Gerhard Geissler represented the undisputed number one, the young goalkeeper came in three rounds league football just eight inserts. In the first year of the old second-rate football Regionalliga Süd 1963/64, Gyula Toth graduated but all 38 league games for the Fürth and made a good name in the circle of the successor goalkeeper Guard. He got an offer from FC Schalke 04 and moved to the Bundesliga. He played in the season 1964/65 against FC Schalke 04 and 1965 to 1968 for the team of the 1st FC Nuremberg. In the season 1966/67, he was from the 27th Round, 1 April 1967 for the eleven from the Noris in the fight to avoid relegation in use. He was among the top performers in the 1-0 away win at Karlsruher SC, a 1-0 home win against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the 4-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt and the two 2-1 victories over Werder Bremen and 1860 Munich. He was therefore hailed as the "savior of the club ". When the " Club" 1967/68 the German championship won under coach Max Merkel, but he came up behind goalkeeper Roland Wabra only to a Bundesliga use to which it was 1968 German Masters.

To round in 1968/69 he spent two laps to SSV Jahn Regensburg in the Football Regionalliga Süd and completed for Jahn 47 Regional Games. At FC 08 Homburg under coach Uwe Klimaschefski came in the Regionalliga West from 1970 to 1972 added another 55 league games. He completed a total of 1963-1972 140 Regional and 33 Bundesliga games. After his playing days he became a coach. He coached among others 1976-1978 KSV Hessen Kassel.
