Ha Seong-ran

Ha Seong -nan (born 1967 in Seoul) is a South Korean writer.

Life

Ha Seong -nan (or Ha Song -ran, born in Seoul, 1967), began as a student to write. She studied at the Art Academy in Seoul and graduated there in 1992 her studies. In 1996 her short story lawns, with which it was known in the literary scene. In that year, also her first collection of short stories was published in The Goblet of ruby, which consists of eight short stories.

Ha is known for its ' microscopic representation ', as its critics call them. Especially her early works show their talent with words to draw extremely detailed scenes from the lives of ordinary people, without this, however, be too long-winded or maudlin. About their skills out to portray things very vividly, Has works illustrate her thorough understanding of the written topics, as well as the care with which they regarded seemingly mundane and inconsequential things. Often they do not directly describe the appearance or personality of a character, but brings their characters instead by a complex picture of memories, expressions, landscapes and surroundings to life. Mold Flower is about a man who seeks truth in the trash. He believes that every garbage bag has a particular signature of the family who has thrown it away. But even after it has scanned hundreds of garbage bags, he does not make it a meaningful relationship with another build.

In recent years, Ha devotes more and more social problems. Bluebeard's first wife is a collection of short stories that all tell of tragic but common events, as they could also appear readily in a local newspaper. Ha has received several awards for her works, such as the Dong- in Literature Prize. for her short story mold Flowers ( 곰팡 의 꽃 ) and the Hyundai Literature Prize for her story Alpha 's Time ( 알치 의 시간 ). In addition, she received the Yisu Literature Prize and the Hankook Ilbo Literature Prize.
