Habère-Lullin

Habère -Lullin is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Habère -Lullin is located on 851 m above sea level. M., about 24 km east of the city of Geneva. The village is in the midst of the broad valley of the Vallée Verte, slightly elevated on a ridge between the Menoge and a left side creek, at the western foot of the Montagne d' Hirmentaz, in the northwestern Savoy Alps.

The area of ​​8.86 km ² municipal area includes a section of the Vallée Verte. The broad valley extending northeast-southwest direction and is drained by the Menoge to Arve. To the north of the municipality extends to the forest floor height of the Tête du Char ( 1256 m above sea level. M. ). In the east, the municipality area on wooded slopes and alpine meadows, stretches down to the Pointe de Miribel ( 1581 m above sea level. To Habère -Lullin include various hamlet settlements, including La Ville du Four ( 823 m above sea level. M. ) in the valley, Les Macherets ( 915 m above sea level. M. ) on sun-exposed southern slope of the Tête de Char and Torchebise (940 m above sea level. M. ) on the eastern side of the valley above the village. Neighboring communities of Habère -Lullin are Fessy and Habère- Poche to the north, and Bellevaux Mégevette in the east, the south and Villard Burdignin in the West.

History

The area of Habère -Lullin was inhabited in Roman times. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Lullin family who resided here and on which the present name suffix is due. By the end of the 18th century Habère -Lullin and Habère- Poche formed a single community with the name Les Habères. With the Canton Boëge changed Habère -Lullin 1939 by arrondissement Bonneville for Arrondissement of Thonon- les- Bains.

Attractions

The village church was remodeled in 1840 with the inclusion of the former components and enlarged. In the choir parts from the 13th century and frescoes have been preserved from the 14th century.

Population

With 845 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Habère -Lullin is one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. A continuous strong growth of the population since the early 1980s has been recorded thanks to the beautiful residential area. Outside the old town center created numerous houses.

Economy and infrastructure

Habère -Lullin was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture and forestry village. Today there are various businesses of the local small business sector. The village lies along the road that leads from Thonon -les- Bains on the Col de Cou after Fillinges in the Arve Valley.
