Hakushaku to Yōsei

Hakushaku to Yosei (Japanese伯爵 と 妖精) is a light novel series and the author Mizue Tani and illustrator Asako Takaboshi that appears in Japan since 2004. It was adapted into a manga, anime and radio play, the manga is published in Germany under the title of Earl & Fairy at Tokyopop.

Content

The 17 -year-old Lydia Carlton lives in the countryside in Victorian England in the 19th century and is the daughter of a professor of natural history in London. She has the ability to speak with fairies, and therefore cares as " Fairy Doctor" by these beings. When she wants to travel with her father to London one day, she is kidnapped, but rescued by Edgar JC Ashenbert. This is the descendant of the legendary blue knight and fights his heritage. To keep up with their abilities to help him, Lydia accompanied him from now on.

Light Novel

The light novel series is published in March 2004 in the magazine Cobalt in Japan. The publisher Shueisha published the chapter also been collected in 29 volumes. Ching Win Publishing has licensed for release in Taiwan.

Radio plays

In Japan, published by Shueisha two radio plays for the Light Novel, 2007 and 2008, on CD.

Manga

A designed by Ayuko manga adaptation of the series has been published since September 2008 in the magazine The Margaret by Shueisha. The individual chapters also appeared in the previous four anthologies.

When Tokyopop since September 2012, a German translation published under the title Earl & Fairy. For an English version of Viz Media licensed the series, Ching Win Publishing for a Chinese.

Anime television series

The studio Artland produced in 2008 a twelve- episode anime television series based on the light novel. Directed by Koichiro Sotome and wrote the screenplay Noriko Nagao. Maki Fujii designed the character design and the art direction was incumbent Mitsuharu Miyamae and Yoichi Yajima. The series aired in Japan from September 28 to December 23, 2008, initially by AT -X, and with about a week delay also from the transmitters Chiba TV, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, TV Kanagawa and TV Saitama.

The music of the series composed Takehiko Gokita. The biasing Feeling song comes from AciD FLavoR, used for the credits at the title of my fairy Hikaru Midorikawa.
