Shueisha

Shueisha (Japanese株式会社 集 英 社Kabushiki - gaisha Shueisha, Eng. Shueisha Inc.) is one of the big Japanese publishers. He is also one of the largest publishers of manga in Japan.

The main office of the publisher is located in Tokyo. Shueisha was founded in 1926 as " entertainment publisher " by Shogakukan. 1949 Publisher by Shueisha became independent. In July 1968, the first issue of the manga magazine Shōnen Jump, which later became the best-selling manga magazine in Japan has been published. Shueisha also publishes the Japanese edition of Playboy magazine.

The American publisher Viz, one of the biggest manga publishers in America, is a subcontractor by Shueisha and Shogakukan. 2005, the Tokyopop publishing a contract with Shueisha, the Tokyopop exclusively allows the publication of German editions of manga titles like Death Note, Bleach, The Prince of Tennis and others.
