Margaret (magazine)

Margaret (Japaneseマーガレット, Māgaretto ) is a Japanese shōjo manga magazine of Shueisha Publishing, which has been published since 1963. By 1988, the magazine was published weekly since every two weeks on the 5th and 20th of each month. 2009 the magazine had a paid circulation of over 112,000 copies, in 2010 this number dropped to 95,000.

The magazine held from the 1960s competitions, which contributed to the fact that, established more and more female mangaka in shōjo manga, which was previously dominated by men. Thus, published in the magazine later also significant artist of the genre, such as Kyoko Ariyoshi, Minami Ozaki and Riyoko Ikeda.
