Haldan Keffer Hartline

Haldan Keffer Hartline ( born December 22, 1903 in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, USA, † March 17, 1983 in Fallston, Maryland, United States) was an American physiologist.

Hartline examined the individual performances of retinal cells of the eye. He provided substantial work on the metabolism of nerve cells.

In 1967 he received along with Ragnar Granit and George Wald Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine " for their discoveries in the field of primary physiological and chemical visual processes in the eye ".
