Hallvar Thoresen

Hallvar Thoresen ( born April 12, 1957 in Larvik) is a Norwegian former football player and current coach.

Playing career

Association

Thoresen was trained Turn the Norwegian football club Larvik. At the age of 17, he moved abroad. In the summer of 1976 he undertook the Dutch club FC Twente Enschede. After his first season in the Eredivisie the attacking midfielder was able to celebrate winning the KNVB Cup. After five years Thoresen was poached by league rival PSV Eindhoven. At PSV he formed in 1982 with the committed Jurrie Koolhof the heart of the team. Between 1986 and 1988 could jointly earn three times in a row the championship and win the Dutch Cup in 1988. In the period from 1983 to 1986 Thoresen was employed as captain of the team and was the mainstay. His greatest success with Eindhoven had the midfielder in his last season in the Netherlands, as in addition to league and cup also the European Champions Cup was won. In the summer of 1988 he returned home to Frigg Oslo FK unterklassigen club.

National

Thoresen was 1979-1989 for the Norwegian national team squad. In ten years, he completed 50 games and was able to achieve nine goals.

Coaching career

After his playing career in 1991, Thoresen Frigg Oslo FK coach. In the following years, he also oversaw the teams Strømsgodset IF, Brann Bergen, Odd Grenland, Lillestrøm SK, the Norwegian Olympic team and Skeid Oslo.
