Hama Governorate

The government Hama (Arabic محافظة حماة, DMG Muhafazat Hamah ) is one of 14 Syrian governorates and is located in the west -central part of the country. The area is depending on the source between 8844 km ² and 8883 km ². The population is 1.416 million people (as of 2005). The council is based in Hama, another major city in this Governorate is Kafr Buhum.
