Hamburg is a city in the south of Carver County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2000, the city had 538 inhabitants.

Geography

Hamburg is located on the western edge of the metropolitan area of ​​Minneapolis -Saint Paul. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of ​​the city is 0.5 square kilometers. Through the village runs a railway line of the Union Pacific Railroad (formerly Chicago and North Western Railway ).

History

In the second half of the 19th century, mostly German settlers in the area settled and formed the town, which was named after the German city of Hamburg. On 1 May 1900, the city received the status of Village and later the city rights.
