Hamish Stuart

Hamish Stuart (born 8 October 1949 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish soul musician who was best known as the singer, guitarist and bassist of the Average White Band.

In 1972 he was a founding member of the AWB, in which he played until separation in 1982. In the 1990s he was a member of Paul McCartney's backing band. He also can be heard among other plates of Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Jim Mullen and Easy Pieces. 1999 Stuarts appeared solo debut Sooner or Later, on which a traditional soul-funk sound is heard.
