Hamrštejn

The castle Hamrštejn ( German Hammerstein ) is located at Machnín ( Machendorf ) in the valley of the Lusatian Neisse river in the Liberec Region, Czech Republic.

The castle was probably built around 1350 by the Lords of Bieberstein. In 1433 it was conquered by the Hussites led by Jan Čapek ze Sán. At the beginning of the 16th century, the castle was abandoned.

From the medieval castle today are the two towers - at least one of which was used for residential purposes - and receive portions of the exterior wall.
