Han Moo-sook
Han Moo - sook ( born October 25, 1918 in Seoul, † 1993) is a South Korean writer.
Life
Han Moo - sook was born on 25 October 1918 in Seoul and graduated in 1937 from the Busan girls' school.
1942 her first story, the woman wearing a lamp ( 등불 드는 여인 ) was published in the magazine Sinsidae. Then she published two plays, heart ( 마음 ) in 1943 and Frost Flower ( 서리꽃 ) in 1944. In 1948, Han Moo - Sooks novel was And so history ( 역사 는 흐른다 ) flows in the daily Kukche Sinmun printed as a continuation novel.
Han Moo - Sooks works are often seen as an attempt to capture the value of purity through literature. At a time in the Korean literature community was shrouded in nihilism or existentialism, Han Moo - sook made his name as an author, the, reproduce strove human joy and problems with heat, instead of cynical pessimism. The Department of East Asian Languages and Literature at the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences at George Washington University holds each year since 1995, a Han Moo - sook colloquium, which is also supported by the Han Moo - Sook Foundation in Seoul.
