Hanna Kolb

Hanna Kolb ( born August 21, 1991 in Stuttgart ) is a German cross country skier.

Career

Brought by their parents with the cross-country skiing in contact sports, piston began to play their first competitions at the age of eleven years.

Junior range

2007 won the student of the Skigymnasiums Oberstdorf two titles at the German Junior Championships. In the 2007 /08 season it was first used in the Alpine Cup, where they could win, among others, the sprint in Oberstdorf. At the end of the season they finished in 47th place in the overall standings of the Alpine Cup. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Malles she won the qualification of the sprint competition and reached the final. There, however, they had to settle for fourth place.

In the following season they reached at the Junior World Championship in Le Praz -de- Lys Sommand the semi-final run, finishing in 28th place about 5 km freestyle. With the German season, she won the bronze medal. As a final leg piston was able to catch 35 seconds on her Russian female opponent, defeating in the final sprint also the Finnish final leg, which had gone down the track 14 seconds before her. Like last year, she dominated the sprint competitions at the German Junior Championships and won the gold medal in the sprint, team sprint and the relay.

On February 21, the piston 23 has been world champion in freestyle sprint at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2012 Junior - Turkish Erzurum U.

World Cup

In the 2009/10 season Kolb was nominated for the first time for the Cross Country World Cup. At home World Cup in Dusseldorf they reached the semi-finals as the only German runner and finished at the end surprising eleventh place. This good result also enabled her to start at the World Cup sprint in Davos, where they survived the qualification again. She dropped but this time in the quarterfinals and finished behind Stefanie Böhler the 20th Place. Hanna Kolb was nominated for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Here they came through the qualifying classic sprint, but retired in the quarterfinals and was at the end of 25 ( 54 participants).

Your best World Cup result she succeeded in the 2010/11 season in January 2011 with a seventh place in the team sprint in Liberec along with Denise Herrmann. In February 2011, she participated in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo. She dropped out in the sprint qualifying and was 59th ( 84 participants).

In its third participation in the Sprint World Cup in Dusseldorf Hanna Kolb could reach its best ever individual score in the 2011/12 season with eleventh place again.

Your first podium in the World Cup was able to win the team sprint with Denise Herrmann in Quebec City on 7 December, Hanna Kolb in the 2012/13 season.
