Hannes Seifert

Hannes Seifert (born 1971 ) is an Austrian game developer, musician and producer. He is regarded as one of the most influential people in the Austrian game developer scene and worked since 1987 to more than 25 games.

In the early 1990s he worked as a games musician, among other things, he composed music for the games 1869 - Hart am Wind and Burn Time by Max Design. In 1993 he founded together with Niki Laber, and Peter Baustädter the development studio neo software. The first project of the new company was the book published in 1993 Whale's Voyage. neo software developed among other things, the Amiga cult game The Sting! or the first part of the strategy game series The peoples.

2001 neo Software was acquired by Take 2 and two years later renamed Rockstar Vienna.

In Rockstar Vienna Hannes Seifert worked on many games by Rockstar Games, including as executive producer on the Xbox version of GTA III and GTA: Vice City as well as the Senior Producer on the Xbox and PS2 version of Max Payne 2: The fall of Max Payne

In early 2006, Rockstar Vienna was closed. Hannes Seifert then founded together with Niki Laber Studio Games That Matter, which was bought by the German game publisher Deep Silver in 2007 and subsequently renamed Deep Silver Vienna. Deep Silver Vienna published in late 2009 with Cursed Mountain for Wii first own game. Seifert left Deep Silver end of January 2010 to work at Square Enix as Production Director for IO Interactive. In the same month, Koch Media told to close Deep Silver Vienna on 31 January 2010. In June 2013 Seifert was appointed Studio Head of IO Interactive.
