Hannu Taipale

Hannu Taipale Allan ( born June 22, 1940 in Veteli, Keski- Ostrobothnia ) is a former Finnish cross-country skiers.

For its first participation at Nordic World Ski Championships 1966 in Oslo Taipale won the silver medal in the relay competition. About 50 km, he reached the fifth place, over 15 km of the seventh. His only Olympic podium he reached at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 when he finished also with the season in third place. These successes he could at the World Championships 1970 in Vysoke Tatry and at the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo not repeat his best finish was about an eighth place in the 50 km race in 1970. Moreover, could Taipale during his career, winning three Finnish championship, two over 30 km (1967 and 1970) and a 50 km (1971).

Hannu Taipale earned his living as a farmer.

His son Kuisma Taipale is also cross-country skiers.
