Hans Andersag

Hans Andersag ( born February 16, 1902 in Lana ( Merano ); † August 10, 1955 in Wuppertal ) was a German scientist.

Life

In 1934 he succeeded the discovery of Chloroquins, a very effective drug against malaria, in the laboratory of Bayer, Wuppertal -Elberfeld (at that time part of the I. G. Farben ). Cloroquin has long been the most widely used drug for the bow and treatment of malaria.

Andersag also succeeded in the first synthesis of vitamin B6, along with Richard Kuhn, Kurt Westphal and Gerhard Wendt.
