Hans-Christoph Rademann

Hans -Christoph Rademann (* August 5, 1965 in Dresden) is a German choral conductor and university professor.

Life

Rademann grew up in Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. on. In the run by his father Rolf Rademann Kantorei he collected the first musical experiences and impressions. He received as a youth lessons in violin and piano, and was from 1975 to 1983 member of the Dresden Cross Choir. After completing school he studied until 1990 at the Musikhochschule Dresden choral and orchestral conducting. In numerous courses including among Helmuth Rilling and Philippe Herreweghe he gained further experience.

Since its founding in 1985, he leads the Dresden Chamber Choir, from 1991 to 1999 he was artistic director of the Dresden Academy of Music. 1999-2004 led Rademann as choir director of the Choir of the NDR. With the start of the 2007/2008 season Rademann took over as chief conductor in addition the management of the RIAS Chamber Choir, which he had already passed as a guest conductor on several occasions. Furthermore Rademann conducted as a guest leading vocal ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent, the National Chamber Choir of Ireland and the radio choruses of ARD. 1994 Rademann was awarded the Prize of the City of Dresden. In 1997 he made ​​his debut as an opera conductor at the state Sachsen Mozart's " Abduction from the Seraglio ." Rademann was appointed in 2000 as professor of choral conducting at the Musikhochschule Dresden, repeated he heads there also performances of the opera class ( Titus et al ), oratorio concerts and initiated a cantata series at Marcolini palace.

In 1994 he initiated the festival of ancient music in the Erzgebirge, which was held annually until 2008 in the first week of July at various locations in the Erzgebirge. 2010 Musikfest Erzgebirge was held for the first time, Rademann is director of the newly established festivals.

On 31 May 2008, he received the Saxon constitution medal was of Landtagspräsident Erich Iltgen " for its commitment to arts and culture in and for Saxony " award.

1 June 2013 Rademann took over the leadership of the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart. In 2014 he was awarded the art prize of the City of Dresden.
