Hans Öberg

Hans Andreas " Stöveln " Öberg ( born November 21, 1926 in Gävle, † March 9, 2009 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player. His brother Carl- Göran Öberg was also a professional hockey player.

Career

At club level, Hans Öberg played exclusively for the Gävle Godtemplares IK from his hometown. From 1947 to 1964, he joined with his team in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, at. In the season 1956/57, he won the national championship with the Gavle GIK. He was instrumental in this success and received the Guldpucken as Sweden's Player of the Year.

Internationally

For Sweden Hans Öberg participated in Oslo and 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo in the Olympic Winter Games 1952. At the Winter Games in 1952 he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team Sweden was also European champion. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1953, 1954, 1957 and 1958. At the World Championships in 1954 and 1958, he won with his team the bronze, respectively, at the World Championships in 1953 and 1957 respectively the gold medal. At the World Championships in 1953 and 1957 he was also European champion with Sweden.
