Hans Petter Moland

Hans Petter Moland ( born October 17, 1955 in Oslo) is a Norwegian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Moland studied from 1974 to 1978 film directing at Emerson College in the USA. During his studies he met his wife Elizabeth Pacini know who moved to Norway with him. They have three children, however, were divorced in 1992. Today, he is married to Maria Sødahl, with whom he also has three children. Moland worked as a commercial filmmaker. For his commercials, he has won several awards. In 1993 he made ​​his debut as a film director with the film Secondløitnanten. His film The Beautiful Country starring Nick Nolte, Tim Roth, and Bai Ling took part in the Competition of the Berlinale 2004. His film En Ganske snill man with Stellan Skarsgård in the leading role was in competition at the Berlinale 2010. With Skarsgård he had previously worked together in two films in which film drama Kjærlighetens kjøtere, in 1996 the Norwegian Amanda won, and the road movie Aberdeen.
