Hanyu da cidian

The Hanyu Da Cidian (Chinese汉语大词典/汉语大词典, Pinyin ' Hànyǔ dà cídiǎn ' Great Chinese Dictionary ') is the most comprehensive dictionary of the Chinese language. Lexicographically it is comparable to the Oxford English Dictionary for English or the Grimms' dictionary of the German language, it tries the vocabulary of the Chinese language to capture diachronically, the period of the texts collected thus extends over three thousand years, from oracle bones to the modern vernacular.
