Harald Bredesen

Harald Bredesen ( born August 18, 1918 † 29 December 2006) was an American Lutheran minister and an influential person of the young charismatic movement.

Life

Harald Bredesen experienced the baptism in the Holy Spirit during a summer camp of the charismatic movement in 1946. He offered his resignation to the church board, which was refused. He saw the decision of his church leadership as a sign and decided to remain in his church as an advocate of the charismatic movement.

Bredesen in 1957 the pastor of Mount Vernon Dutch Reformed Church, where he introduced charismatic embossed prayer meeting. Were influenced by him, among others, Pat Boone and Pat Robertson, who as a student assistant worked for him from 1958 to 1959. A collaboration with Jean Stone Willans led in 1960 to the founding of the Blessed Trinity Society.
