Hardt, Westerwaldkreis
Hardt ( dialect: Hoord ) is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Marienberg (Westerwald ).
Geographical location
The community lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and victories. The Nister, which belongs to the catchment area of the victory, forms the southern boundary of the parish.
The Hardter mill south of town location is located in the municipality of Hahn bei Marienberg.
History
The first written record of the village Hardt was in 1332 in connection with the Hardter mill. The place name is derived from the Old High German hard ( = "Forest height" or " forest hill "). In the district, probably in the canyon to Erbach, who vanished after 1440 place Gilhain or Gielhayn was ( OHG gil = " dell ", " gorge "); In 1492 there was the hamlet " to height".
