Stockhausen-Illfurth

Stockhausen illfurth ( dialect: Stackese - Illfurt ) is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Marienberg (Westerwald ).

Geographical location

The community lies in the Westerwald between Limburg and victories. Through the community's Big Nister flows.

The municipality also includes the living space Waldhof.

History

The present district of Stockhausen may have been established because of his name during the period from the 6th to the 11th century. The first written reference to the year 1500, as a place that belonged to the parish court Marienberg. Illfurth is first mentioned in 1438 and 1490 as Westerburger Huben court.

In 1867 the two previously independent municipalities Stockhausen and illfurth were merged under the Prussian government.

Parish council

The local council in Stockhausen illfurth consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
